Long Hair Lady's dialogue in red: "Hey! I'm Hainanese too!"
Short Hair Lady's dialogue in red: "Hey, I can't tell!"
Long Hair Lady's dialogue in red: "Later we'll have chicken rice at Purvis Street."
Short Hair Lady's dialogue in red: "And order a plate of sweet and sour pork too."

Guy: "I'm done for."

that's the advantage of being in a dislect whereby it's not common, yet not uncommon..

Heh, I liked the epilogue more than the main story. :P
This brings me to a question of try not to speak back about other in ur own language.
I know of Indian's that know Hokkien,
Malay's that are super fluent in Chinese, Same for Ang Mohs.
I bet there is some underlying meaning to this comic. Hehehe.
Bwahaahaa that's funny! Unfortunately all the languages and dialects I speak are all pretty common :(
Being a Hainanese (dying breed) and reading your comic in Hainanese is just truly amazing.
The advantage to have the surname Foo is that people could immediately recognize that you are a Hainanese. my surname is Chong, therefore people cannot identify our family as a Hainanese household. You are Wang ...hmm...so is my mom. by the way, great illustrations you have. This is my first time visiting your blog. Boh Kai dit.
