Just last week, I read with interest about the Defence Science & Technology Agency's (DSTA) 'TechX Challenge' in the papers. Essentially, participants have to come up with a robot that is able to 'search for a target, carry the required payload, and enter and exit a building. It must also be able to go from floor to floor via the stairs or the lift.' The team with the fastest robot will bag a cash prize worth $1 million.
Sounds an awful lot like a Terminator to me.
And today, I read about a call to Singaporeans to develop 'the next YouTube or Skype' by a Minister speaking at the World Economic Forum.
At the end of the day, looks like what is needed is a KILLER APPLICATION (gives a whole new meaning when you lump that robot challenge with this I.T. 'gem of an idea' challenge). Man...Ain't heard those words since the dot.com boom and playing Bullshit Bingo.

That Facial Expression
I enjoy observing people, especially the facial expressions of women. As to what my favourite facial expression is, I'll have to trouble 'Miss Kuah' to demonstrate:
To me, the facial expression above is THE facial expression for all seasons (I believe it is etched into a woman's subconsciousness). It expresses SURPRISE as shown above. It also expresses...
...BEWILDERMENT
...CONCENTRATION/DECISION MAKING
A variation of this facial expression (with eyes looking to the ground and raised eyebrows) can also express EMBARRASSMENT.
...SENSE OF URGENCY
That facial expression is just so unbelievably rich. Now if I had a say in advertising...
:)

STAR WARS and me
Never thought my first press appearance would be Star Wars related. Glad I wasn't wearing a costume with a helmet. Oh yes, that's me as an Imperial Officer in the middle :D
